Move like the wind

A personal starting point.

I am Moluccan-Javanese, and I have surrounded myself with creative people throughout my life. Dancers, musicians, writers, designers, photographers, painters — people who create something to see, hear or feel. I feel at home among them. I bring that love of making into MATAGI.

For the love of art.

Those words are tattooed on my arm. A colour, a film, a game, anime or a story from home can spark my imagination. Through fashion, imagery and design, I give that inspiration a form of its own. You do not need to share my background or know the reference: the story may move you, or you may simply fall for the design.

A world to explore.

In World of MATAGI, we share our fashion research and the ideas behind our work. HUMANITY is our creative framework for developing collections; Open Studio shows what we are working on. We are also building For the love of art.: conversations with creative makers about their lives and work. In time, we want to introduce a carefully selected range of other brands, too.
